Christian Education

Children’s VBS Sunday School: Sunday school is currently offered for children from Age 2 up to Grade 6. A similar concept to our summer Vacation Bible School, the children gather with their teachers and friends for Bible stories, crafts, and games.

Children’s Sermon: A Children’s Sermon every Sunday after the reading of the gospel.  Afterwards, children may go to Children’s Church or rejoin their families.

Children’s Church: Children Grade 2 and younger are invited to attend Children’s Church during the regular Sunday service. Children who want to attend children’s church go with two teachers before the adult sermon for a short story, activity sheet and play time. Children return to their parents before communion. The lessons are aligned with the church year and are read from a Story Bible.

Vacation Bible School: This year’s VBS will be a little different because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Safety and well-being for our children and those who would normally volunteer for this program come first and foremost. So, we are joining with our neighboring churches to offer our 2020 VBS, “Camp Compassion,” as an online experience, accessible each week for you to experience in the safety and comfort of your home – and at the time that works best for you. There is no fee, but you must register in order to receive the weekly materials. The material is designed mainly for K-5th graders, but there will be specific activities for preschoolers as well. New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church is handling registration. To register, go to their website using http://www.newhanoverlutheran.org/vbs.php.
